Dog training is extremely important! However, have you ever wondered what the reality of dog training really looks like?  Here are some things I have learned about dog training.

1) Training a dog can be expensive.

2) It’s more about training you then training your dog. You are teaching your dog how to communicate with you.

3) Dog training requires patience. Your dog will likely not figure out a trick immediately. It will take practice and patience for your dog to get what you are asking them to do.

4) Training your dog is a consistent process. The training you have taught your dog needs to be reinforced for your dog to keep responding accordingly.

5) Dog training can be dangerous. When you are training your dog especially when you are using a long leash pay close attention to the leash and what it is wrapped around. The last thing you want is the leash to wrap around your leg when you go to throw a ball for your dog. This can knock you straight on the ground and fast. Trust me I know from personal experience.
