The Hidden Cost Of Owning A Dog
There are the financial costs of owning a dog but no one talks about the hidden cost of owning a dog that are not financial. You may be wondering what I am talking about if its not finances, well here is the information.
Planning
When you have a dog you can’t just leave for 9 hours and have no one let the dog out. You would need to find a dog walker, pet sitter, or take the dog to a daycare if you are going to be gone for that long. This requires planning ahead of time and keeps you from making more spontaneous decisions.
Work
The vast majority of people work for at least 8 hours a day. You will need to find someone to let your dog out during the day or put together a kennel so your dog can use the bathroom while you are gone.
Illness
If your dog gets sick or as they age they may not be able to cope as well with different temperatures. It’s possible that you could need to change the preferred temperature of your house for your dogs well being.
Even though these things can be hurdles to owning a dog it is worth it when you have a great new family member!
