One of the things that can easily be overlooked when getting a dog is whether a chain link vs welded wire dog kennel is better. When I first got a dog I picked out a welded wire outdoor kennel without really thinking about it. It was easy to clip the panels together and you were left with a strong and durable dog kennel. I never had a problem with it.
However, after I moved I decided to go the cheaper route and get a chain link dog kennel. This type of kennel is where you clip the poles together and then wrap the piece of chain link around the frame. Once the chain link is unrolled you use wire ties to tie the chain link to the frame.
I however noticed a huge problem with this type of kennel. My dog loved to try to escape. One day I got a phone call when I was over an hour out of town and she had escaped though a pretty good size hole she made in the kennel. I noticed later that her tooth was cracked and she had to have it removed. The price of the tooth removal would have easily covered the cost of a welded wire kennel.
