It’s exciting when you decide to get a new dog but here are two things that need to be considered before you get a dog.

Time – If you are gone at work 8+ hours a day you are likely going to be coming home tired and wanting to relax. Guess what if your dog has been home all day they have likely been sleeping and are ready to rock and roll when you walk in the door. Make sure that you have time available after work and before work to tire out your dog. This helps ensure that your dog won’t destroy your house when you are gone.

Money – Before you get a dog consider your finances and make sure you have a dog emergency fund and have budgeted for all your dogs needs. Some of the things that are easily missed are training, dog walkers or dog day care, and boarding when you are away on a trip.
