Although it may seem like a good idea there are many dangers when leaving your dog outside home alone here are some of the things to keep in mind.

1) Your dog could escape from the yard and you would not be aware your dog is missing until you get home.

2) There are people unfortunately who hate dogs and someone could throw something into your yard that your dog could eat whether it be poison or another dangerous item that could cause your dog to get sick or die.

3) If the weather suddenly changes and you don’t have a doghouse or a proper shelter for your dog outside they will be exposed to the elements and could be in danger. In situations like a tornado your dog won’t have very many options as to finding a safe spot to lay during the storm.

4) Depending on your dogs personality and behavior they could sit the entire day or afternoon and bark at everybody who walks by and everything they see which if you live in the city could drive your neighbors crazy and caused the cops to be called.

5 ) Since you would not be home watching your dog someone could take the change and steal your dog.

6 ) If you leave your dog in a fenced in area with their collar on they could get the collar caught in the fence or another object in the yard and get stuck or worse end up choking to death.
