One of the important parts of dog care is making sure that your dog gets enough exercise. A common toy that can be found are dog laser pointers. Although these many seem like a good idea there are a few things you may want to consider before using one.

1) You are teaching your dog to chase something that doesn’t physically exist. Although it can be cute to watch your dog chase after a light on the floor unlike a ball your dog will never catch the light.

2) If you have a large dog that is chasing after the laser pointer it can be dangerous for your dogs care. A 60 pound dog chasing after a light can easily run into a table or start knocking things over like lamps if they are more focused on the light than on their surroundings.

3)  Your dog may start chasing after lights thinking they are laser pointers. This may not sound   that bad however if you have to take your dog out to use the bathroom at night your dog may just want to chase after the light instead of using the bathroom.
